Man passes out at the wheel, hits grocery store wall
A man was taken to the hospital after suffering a medical condition and crashing into SuperOne Foods in Negaunee.
The incident happened around 3:45 Friday afternoon.
Negaunee City Police say eyewitnesses saw the man pass out at the wheel of his car and drive into the front of the building, near the Peninsula Bank Entrance.
Police add a paramedic from Marquette happened to be in the parking lot at the time and was able to assist the man, who was then transported to Bell Hospital. There is no word on his condition, but police say the man had regained his pulse while in the ambulance.
There is no damage to the store, but there was extensive front-end damage to the man’s Pontiac Vibe.
The Michigan State Police, Bell Hospital EMS, and the Negaunee Fire Department assisted at the scene.
No other information is being released at this time.
