NMU X-C signs three runners

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University and head cross country coach Jenny Ryan announced Thursday that three future student-athletes have signed to compete for the Wildcats beginning in fall 2014.
“I am very excited about the addition of these three quality student athletes,” said Ryan. “They will make a great addition to the program and will add depth and strength to an already very strong team. Next year will be a very exciting year for NMU Cross Country.”
Kameron Burmeister joins the squad from Menomonee, Michigan where she competed in cross country and track and field for Menominee High School. Burmeister was first in the 2013 Michigan High School Athletic Association U.P. Cross Country Championships, finishing the 5K course in 19:36. She also finished second in the 2013 U.P Track and Field Finals in the 1600 meter run (5:22) and the 3200 meter run while finishing third in the 800 meter run (2:26). She was All-State, All-U.P. All-State Academic, All-Conference Dream team. Burmeister will also run track at NMU.
Caroline Brisbois comes to NMU from Falcon Heights, Minn. where she competed in cross country and track and field at Roseville High School. Brisbois was seventh in the Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Championships finishing the 4K course in a time of 14:35. She was All-State, All-Conference and was a three-time state qualifier in cross-country.
Vivian Hett signed with the Wildcats from Burnsville, Minn. where she competed in cross country and track and field for Burnsville High School. She was 15th in the Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Championships with a time of 14:37 in the 4K course. She was All-State and All-Conference in cross-country. Hett was a five-time state qualifier in cross country and three time state-qualifier in track and field. Hett will also compete for the NMU Nordic skiing team.
