Personal care service business opens
The pace of American life has accelerated dramatically in the last few decades. Many people are unable to spend as much time as they’d like with loved ones that have unique needs.
AcTi-KARE Responsive In-Home Care is a national company that provides caregivers to address those needs. A U.P. regional chapter opened in November. The area director has worked as an occupational therapist for ten years, mostly in skilled nursing facilities.
“I see the senior population wanting to remain independent in their homes, but I also see how hard that is sometimes for family members to provide care for them and find the time to assist their elderly parents,” area director Kamie Swanson said.
AcTi-KARE services include light housekeeping, transportation help, meal preparation and more, and the company isn’t only for people with older relatives. It offers help to anyone with an illness or injury.
“Post–surgery or mothers on bed rest,” Swanson said. “We also can provide anything from assistance with respite care to families that might want to go on vacation to assist with their elderly loved ones to pet care, even.”
AcTi-KARE’s caregivers come with extensive references.
