Florek recalled by Boston Bruins
Former Northern Michigan University forward and captain Justin Florek has been recalled to join the Boston Bruins.
The Marquette-native made his NHL debut against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. He finished the game with one shot on goal and two hits in 10:14 of ice time. The Bruins won the game over the Jets, 4-1.
After one game with the Boston Bruins, Florek was in the lineup for the Providence Bruins game against Worcester on Sunday. Florek had two assists as Providence defeated the Sharks, 8-2. The Providence Bruins are the top minor league affiliate of the Boston Bruins.
Florek was recalled by the Boston Bruins again on Monday. He will accompany the team on a three game west coast trip. The Bruins will play against Anaheim on Tuesday, Jan 7, followed by a game at Los Angeles against the Kings on Thursday, Jan 9. Boston will wrap up the road trip at San Jose on Saturday, Jan. 11.
Florek was a fifth round selection by the Bruins in the 2010 NHL Draft.
