NMU hockey wins at Bemidji St.
The Northern Michigan University hockey team defeated Bemidji State, 4-1 on Friday night. It was the Wildcats first win since November 23 against Alabama Huntsville.
NMU scored four unanswered goals in the game. The Wildcats scored three goals in the second period. Darren Nowick, Shane Sooth, Sami Salminen each scored a goal for the ‘Cats in the second.
Leading 3-1 in the third period, Wildcats forward Reed Seckel scored his sixth goal of the season on the power play to put NMU up 4-1. John Siemer and Darren Nowick were each credited with an assist. NMU scored two power play goals on five opportunities.
With the win, the Wildcats improve their record to 7-10-2 this season. NMU and Bemidji State will play one more game on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 8:07 p.m. eastern time.
