Steven Miller, 49, accused of two counts of criminal sexual conduct

A Gwinn man is lodged at the Marquette County Jail after being arrested on two felony criminal sexual conduct charges.

49-year-old Steven Wayne Miller was taken into custody by Forsyth Township Police on Saturday on one count of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and one count of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree. The third degree CSC charge is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. The fourth degree charge is a high court misdemeanor which includes a $500 fine and/or up to 2 years in prison.

This is Miller’s second CSC offense, which means he will have a mandatory five-year minimum sentence if he is convicted.

Both of Miller’s criminal sexual conduct charges stem from an October 17th incident involving a lone victim. According to the report, Miller allegedly performed the criminal sexual acts while the victim was incapacitated.

Miller is currently lodged at the Marquette County Jail on a $200,000 cash bond. He is set to appear for a preliminary exam in Marquette County District Court on December 20th at 9:30 a.m.
