State will help pay for work on Marquette County Road 492
The Marquette County Road Commission will upgrade County Road 492 in 2015, and state transportation funds will pay for most of the work.
MDOT says County Road 492 will be resurfaced in Marquette Township from Lost Creek Driveway to County Road 500 (Grove Street). The $500,000 project also will include shoulder and guardrail upgrades. The Road Commission will cover $200,000 of the cost and the other $300,000 will come from the state Transportation Economic Development Fund.
The County Road 492 project is one of seven projects statewide taking place in 2015 that will receive a total of $2.5 million from the Transportation Economic Development Fund. The other six projects are in the Lower Peninsula.
MDOT says the Transportation Economic Development Fund provides funding for transportation improvements that enhance the state’s ability to compete in a global economy, promote economic growth and improve the quality of life in Michigan. More information about the program is available here.
