NMU defeats Findlay in five sets
The Northern Michigan University volleyball team defeated the University of Findlay, 3-2, in a thrilling GLIAC quarterfinal match at Vandament Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The Wildcats won the fifth set, 18-16, to secure their spot in the GLIAC semifinals.
NMU senior Kalli Herron finished the match with 26 kills. Herron scored her 1,000th career kill in the first set. The Wildcats finished the match with 75 kills.
Wildcats senior Lina Lopes led the way on defense with 22 kills. Kellisha Harley, another NMU senior, led the green and gold with 60 assists.
With the win, NMU will play in the GLIAC semifinals against Ashland on Saturday, Nov. 24 on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale. The Wildcats last visit to the GLIAC semifinals was back in 2010.
