Robbery suspects to face federal charges
A man accused of robbing two Watton residents in August appeared in U.S. Federal Court.
Bernard Fish, 27, was arrested in his hometown of Shawano, Wisconsin on October 3. He is facing one charge of impersonating, making arrest or search. Other charges may be brought against Fish, but the charges were not revealed in court.
Police say he and 21-year-old Donavan Waupoose broke into the Watton home… said they were federal agents… and demanded a $10,000 ransom. They didn’t get the money… but allegedly stole some items from the home. Both are also suspects in a robbery that occurred in Long Lake, Wisconsin on the same day.
Waupoose was arrested shortly after the robberies, and is being held in the Baraga County jail in lieu of a $1 million dollar bond. His pretrial hearing is scheduled for November 1. Fish was scheduled to appear in federal court in Marquette this week.
