Iron Mountain woman joins McBroom staff
State Rep. Ed McBroom today announced Iron Mountain native Emily Mortl has joined his Lansing staff to handle constituent relations.
“I am very happy that Emily has come on board and will be helping the hard-working residents in the 108th House District with issues or concerns,” said McBroom, R-Vulcan. “She brings a keen knowledge of the challenges we face in the Upper Peninsula, having grown up in Iron Mountain.”
Mortl, daughter of Mark and Laura Mortl, attended Kingsford High School and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in International Relations. She said she is eager to assist residents in the district with their concerns and challenges.
“I love doing this sort of work and helping people negotiate the unique challenges of government issues,” Mortl said. “My whole family still lives in Iron Mountain. I feel very close to the people in the Upper Peninsula and look forward to working with residents to solve any concerns they may have.”
