Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Saturday in Marquette
The Marquette County Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® will hit the pavement Saturday, September 28.
The event is one leg in the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. It’s held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, as a fund-raising with the goal to end Alzheimer’s disease, the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s unites the entire community — family, friends, co-workers, social and religious groups and more — in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against the disease. While there is no fee to register, each participant is expected to raise money to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help each participant reach their fundraising goal.
The Marquette County walk begins at the Marquette YMCA (1420 Pine Street, Marquette) with 9:00 a.m. registration. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m.
