56-year-old Daniel Delaski of Skandia has been charged with “Operating While Impaired – Causing Serious Injury.” The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. Thursday night in the 100 block of Ingalls Road in Skandia. Delaski was backing his 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer down his driveway when he ran over 61-year-old Richard Gelsinger. He was then arraigned in Marquette County District Court this morning for a felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated. If convicted, Delaski could spend up to five years in jail and/or pay $1,000 to $5,000 in fines. He is due back in court for a preliminary exam on October 11th at 10:00 a.m.
Skandia-West Branch First Responders and Marquette General EMS assisted at the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation.
