A Houghton County man who was a wanted fugitive in a domestic violence case was in court Friday.
Travis Kuopos, 26, is lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a half million dollar cash bond.
He has three cases against him including a misdemeanor Domestic Violence charge. Kuopos failed to appear for court hearings in this case and a bench warrant was issued.
That charge could land Kuopos in jail for 93 days.
He has two new cases against him: Malicious Destruction of Property, between $200 and $1,000 – another misdemeanor. He could face up to one year in jail for that misdemeanor charge.
Kuopos faces another two–count misdemeanor of Stalking, a one year misdemeanor, and Reckless Driving, a 93 day misdemeanor.
His next scheduled court appearances in Houghton County District Court are for pretrial hearings on October 9 and October 11.
