NMU men’s b-ball adds 11 players
The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team is rebuilding on the fly. Only three players remained on the roster from the 2012-13 season.
New Wildcats head coach Bill Sall hit the road running on the recruiting trail. Sall signed Mid Peninsula High School forward Brett Branstrom to a National Letter of Intent just after he was hired in May.
On Wednesday, Sall announced the addition of 11 more players, six transfers and five true freshmen. Among the freshmen to join the team is Carney-Nadeau guard Wade Schetter. He announced his intentions to play basketball at Northern Michigan earlier this summer.
After a nice career at Kingsford, Caleb Harrington will play for the NMU basketball team. He averaged 18.5 points per game during the 2012-13 season for the Flivvers.
Other freshmen to join the ‘Cats include Joey Barnes, a 6’9″ center from Brentwood, Tenn. Freshmen Dorrell Foster and Marcus Hall both played high school basketball in Michigan.
The six players who transferred to NMU are Ethan Blackwell, Brandon Havercamp, Chavis Mattison, Alex Mustert, Justin Newell, and Larry Taylor. The Wildcats now have 15 players on the roster for the upcoming season.
