USOEC welcomes int’l wrestlers
For the second time in the last month, the United States Olympic Education Center is helping out a wrestling team.
Members of France’s top Junior Greco-Roman wrestling team are at Northern Michigan University through Monday, Sept. 1, training with the USOEC wrestling team.
The international wrestlers usually train at their facilities in Burgundy, France. The athletes who are in Marquette training with the USOEC wrestlers were selected to come to the United States based on how they performed last season.
“USOEC Coach Rob Hermann invited our team to train in Marquette,” said two-time Olympian and French team coach Christophe Guenot through a release from the USOEC. “Some of the USOEC athletes are older than our athletes, but the training opportunity is great. The training area and location are very nice.”
