Bark River man dies in motorcycle crash
Dickinson County Sheriff Scott Celello reports that on Friday at approximately 11:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motorcycle accident on M-69 near Quarrry Road in Felch Township. The driver, Riley Klee from Bark River, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. A male passenger was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Based on the investigation, the motorcycle, a 2012 Honda CBR-1000, was traveling westbound on M-69 when the operator lost control and struck a guardrail on the north side of the road. After striking the guardrail, the motorcycle became airborne ejecting both individuals.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Felch Fire Department, IFR Ambulance, Nordic Ambulance and Cerasoli Towing. The individuals were not wearing helmets and speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor. The accident remains under investigation.
