June state unemployment rate: 8.7%

The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June increased by three-tenths of a percentage point.

That news comes from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.

Unemployment in the state inched up to 8.7%, but that’s still lower than the unemployment rate in June 2012, which was 9.3%.

The state’s labor force grew by 21,000 people.

However, the number of people unemployed increased by 13,000.

Michigan’s workforce has increased in size every month so far in 2013.

In the past year, the work force has grown by 1.2%.

Employment gains have been sustained for nearly a year, since September 2012.

The number of payroll jobs in the state have increased for the second consecutive month, and June was the highest level so far.

It’s also the 13th consecutive month for job growth in the state.

Education, health services, leisure and hospitality jobs saw job gains, while there was a small decline in hiring workers in professional and business jobs.
