U.P. man found dead in Wisconsin

A twenty-two year-old man from Stephenson was found dead in Wisconsin Friday morning in an apparent hit and run accident.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department says Timothy J. Meade was found not breathing on County Road M at the Highway 29 overpass at 2:30 a.m., just west of the town of Shawano and about 40 miles to the northwest of Green Bay.

Meade was pronounced dead by the Shawano County Coroner at around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning.

They say it appears that Meade was hit by a vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident as a hit and run.  They say the vehicle that hit Meade may be a SUV, pick-up truck, or other large vehicle heading eastbound towards the City of Shawano.
