Lt. Gov. Calley featured on “Media Meet”

Michigan Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley is part of a public affairs interview program on WNMU–TV this weekend.

Media Meet has a question and answer format with local media joining the WNMU host.

The foundation of the program is that no one takes a side while asking questions – and the topics are to be presented objectively.

“That’s one of the things that’s very important about what we do,” Producer and Host of Media Meet Bill Hart said.  “We try to marshal as much information as we can on a topic, and talk to the people who are making a difference, but we don’t take a position on the program.”

Hart says Media Meet gives a great opportunity to talk to public officials and get input on important topics facing the state.

“What we’re looking for will be straight forward answers to some of the difficult questions that they’re (the public officials) are facing today in their own work,” Hart said.  “We don’t take a position on it, but we do fill in–in some cases–on a position that may be missing if we’re going over a topic.”

“We’ll try to present all sides if we can, and there’s some tough choices right now before the governor and lieutenant governor.”

ABC 10’s Rick Tarsitano is part of the Media Meet panel for the weekend program.

Media Meet will air Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m on WNMU-TV Channel 13.  It will also on Public Radio 90, Sunday at 7:30 a.m. and Monday 3:30 p.m.
