Newberry leaves NMU football team
After one season at Northern Michigan University, defensive coordinator Brian Newberry has left the Wildcats football team.
ABC 10 Sports confirmed Thursday evening that Newberry was hired at Kennesaw State University, to be the Owls defensive coordinator.
Kennesaw State University is in the process of developing a football team. The Owls will not play a game on the field until 2015.
Last season with the ‘Cats, Newberry was in charge of a very young and inexperienced defense that finished 12th in both total defense and scoring defense in the GLIAC.
With Newberry out, NMU will have its third defensive coordinator as many seasons.
