Former NMU goalie has surgery
Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jared Coreau will miss the remainder of the regular season after having surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to the teams website.
The former NMU goalie signed a three-year deal with the Red Wings on April 3. He had been working with the team in Detroit on a regular basis.
In late March, Coreau announced that he would forgo his senior season at NMU in order to turn pro. Coreau went 15-19-4 in net this past season for the ‘Cats, posting a goals against average 2.70 and a save percentage of .919.
The team expects Coreau to be physically ready for the teams training camp in September. Coreau is expected to spend next season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
