Alzheimer’s Disease conference at NMU
Caregivers, professionals, and families involved with Alzheimer’s Disease learned from one another on Monday.
The Alzheimer’s Association held its 15th Annual Caregiver Conference at Northern Michigan University. The goal of the conference is to provide families and caregivers the information and support they need to continue to help others who suffer from Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Local organizations and services also come together to support the Alzheimer’s Association and help with the event.
The conference featured several medical professionals who discussed important topics about Alzheimer’s, such as family care planning, learning how to cope, and treating the disease effectively.
Alzheimer’s disease is sixth leading cause of the death in the United States. It is estimated that more than 5 million Americans are living with the disease.
