Girls B-Ball players earn All-State honors

The girls high school basketball season may have ended a few weeks ago, but the awards keep coming in for several U.P. hoop stars.

The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) has announced its ‘Best All-State Girls’ Teams.

Lexi Gussert from Forest Park was named to the ‘Best of the Best’ team. The junior averaged 32.5 points per game last season for the Trojans.

Elisa Jurmu of Houghton was named to the Class ‘C’ All-State team.

Sarah Cullip and Kelley Wright from the State Champion St. Ignace La Salle Saints made the Class ‘D’ All-State team, as did Vanessa Freberg of Superior Central.
