Calumet fugitive arrested in Illinois
A fugitive from Calumet on the run since Thanksgiving is now in custody. Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post say Christina Gagnon, 32, has been located along with her 11-year-old son in Bollingbrook, Illinois.
Gagnon was arrested for Parental Kidnapping on Saturday. Her son was found to be in good health.
Police say family members were traveling to Illinois to pick the child up and bring him back to Michigan.
The search for Gagnon began in November 2012 when police came to question her and Raymond Ojala Junior of Hubbell about an investigation into the writing of several bad checks. Gagnon was wanted on several felony counts of Uttering and Publishing and Forgery of checks. Ojala is facing a charge of felony kidnapping-custodial interference after turning himself in in January.
Gagnon is awaiting extradition back to Michigan pending possible charges in Illinois and Wisconsin.
