Heritage Manor Renovations
It’s been more than four months since residents of the Heritage Manor Apartments in Houghton were forced out of their homes by a fire and subsequent water damage.
A major project has been underway since then to renovate the building so the displaced seniors could come home.
OHM is overseeing the project, with Closner Construction acting as the general contractor.
Both companies are based out of Hancock.
Houghton Housing Commission executive director Sherry Hughes says there was hope at first that the residents could be back in their apartments in time for Christmas, but that hope quickly faded.
March will be an exciting time; the residents will move back home then.
