Gladstone Bar Hit by Car
A man is in the Delta County Jail for drunk driving after police say he crashed into a bar in Gladstone overnight.
Gladstone Public Safety says the accident happened at Gibby’s Bar on M-35 at about 1:00 this morning.
Police say the driver, a 27-year-old Gladstone-area man, was heading west on M-35 when he left the roadway.
His vehicle entered the Gibby’s parking lot, hit an unoccupied and parked vehicle, crashed through a storage shed and came to rest in the bar’s bathrooms. No one in the bar was hurt.
After receiving medical treatment at the scene, the man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and was taken to the Delta County Jail.
Police say high speed was also a factor in the crash.
Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post are helping Gladstone Public Safety continue the investigation.
