MARQUETTE, Mich. The Northern Michigan University soccer seniors went
out on top in their final game in the Green and Gold as the Wildcats
defeated Malone 7-0 on Sunday (Oct. 28) to snap a seven-game winless
streak. NMU finished the season 4-13 overall and 2-10 in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
We had a good day today and it was a lot of fun, NMU coach Matt
Granstrand said. We knew that this year was going to be a challenge but
its a great way to end it. This is a good group and its the most fun
Ive had coaching in many years. Its a good way to go out for the
seniors.
Seniors Becky Fiorenza, Amelia Johnson, Jenna Peplinski and Brekelle
Sellers all started the game. Sellers scored her first goal of the season
and added two assists. Johnson scored her third of the season.
The seniors have been great leaders, Granstrand added. They work hard,
they play hard and with a year like this, they kept it positive and fun.
We trained hard and played hard every day and thats a credit to the
seniors.
Sophomore Tevun Sellers opened the games scoring with her third of the

middle and shot into the net.

the break as Brekelle Sellers fed her the ball for her second assist of
the day. Tevun Sellers added her second of the game a minute later as she
