Michigan Parenting Conference
Children and families were the focus of a one–day conference on parenting today in Marquette.
The annual Parenting Awareness Michigan conferences are held to bring together professionals and volunteers who work with families to learn about issues facing today’s parents and caregivers.
They get to network with other family advocates and learn new skills.
The conference addressed discipline, family finances and time management.
Prevention network coordinator Luanne Beaudry says several emerging issues were also tackled at the conference: Internet safety, emerging drug trends in the Upper Peninsula and aggressive behaviors.
Another statewide parenting conference is planned for November 14th in Lansing.
