Families Against Narcotics plans meeting
MARESA, the NorthCare Network, and the Upper Peninsula School Nurses
Association will offer the opportunity to participate in an educational program by Mark Rudolph, Founder of FAN – Families Against Narcotics. The presentation will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday November 1st in the Negaunee High School Auditorium.
Mark’s message: “Drugs affect all communities and people from all walks of life. If your life is affected by drugs, we at FAN understand how you feel. Whether you are: an addict, drug user, parent, brother or sister, friend, grandparent, aunt, uncle… we’ve walked in your
shoes and you are not alone. There are others out there, much closer to you than you can imagine, who have or are going through similar experiences. And help is available. Many of us never thought drugs would be an issue in our home – but they are. And now we’re at a loss as to what to do, who to talk to or where to turn.” The program lasts between one and two hours.
About Mark: Mark’s son, Ryan tragically died of a heroin overdose on October 20, 2007 just 25 days short of his 19th birthday. At Ryan’s funeral, Mark made a promise – to Ryan and to himself – that Ryan would not be just another kid who died of a drug overdose. That
somehow, he would try to help one person make better choices or help one family deal with the insanity of drug addiction. http://www.promise2ryan.com
