Negaunee names new Varsity Girls B-Ball Coach

The Negaunee School Board named Brandon Sager the new Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at the school districts school board meeting tonight.

Sager replaces Gregg Nelson, who’s contract was not renewed after a locker room incident that took place this past March. The Miners under Nelson won the Mid Peninsula Conference title outright this past season.

Sager has plenty of basketball playing and coaching experience, most recently as the co-head coach of the Northern Michigan Drive, a boys AAU basketball program that has been established in the U.P. by both Sager and former Negaunee Miner Bill Hill.
