Wolf Forum today in St. Ignace
The Department of Natural Resources reminds the public that the Michigan Wolf Forum will meet on Thursday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Little Bear East Arena, located at 275 Marquette St. in St. Ignace.
The meeting will examine Wolf Management Plan action items in light of wolves being removed from the federal endangered species list, which has made full implementation of this plan possible, and explore options for implementing the areas where funding is lacking or that can be more effectively addressed by partners.
The 2008 Wolf Management Plan, which guides wolf management in Michigan, created the Wolf Forum as a way to gather input and feedback from stakeholders or diverse interests and perspectives. The forum is a direct link between stakeholders and the DNR to discuss implementation of the Wolf Plan and future activities related to wolves and wolf management.
Members of the public are welcome to observe the meeting and will have the opportunity to provide written comments.
