Home invasion in Luce Co. investigated

The investigation continues into what may be a drug-related home invasion in Luce County in which a man was allegedly held at knife point. Four suspects have been arraigned.

Early Wednesday morning, troopers from the Michigan State Police, Newberry detachment, were called out to a residence on Country Road 405. The occupants reported several suspects wearing dark clothing had broken into their home. Police say one man sustained minor injuries while being held at knife point as the suspects robbed the occupants of prescription drugs. The suspects fled the area but were soon apprehended.

32-year-old Teresa Faye Kinney, 18-year-old Markus Allen Kinney, and 21-year-old Zachary Matthew Sturgeon all of Newberry were arraigned in 92nd District Court in Newberry. All three suspects are being charged with assault with intent to rob while armed, punishable by up to life in prison. And, first degree home invasion, a 20 year felony.

A juvenile suspect was also apprehended and has been arraigned as an adult on the same charges in the 92nd District Court of Luce County.
