NTN gets major donation
The Marquette County Convention and Visitors Bureau presented the Noquemanon Trail Network with a $5,000 donation towards maintenance and signage of the South Marquette Trail System, including the new sections that the upcoming Trail Jam race will be held on this Sunday, July 1, 2012.
The NTN Trail Jam is a cross country mountain bike race that is part of the Marquette Bike Jam weekend. Sunday events will feature 10:00 am start time for the 12 mile and 25 mile events. A youth race will be featured after 1:00 on the new youth trails. Awards will follow after events.
The South Marquette Trails consist of single track used for mountain biking, hiking and running. Trails range from intermediate to difficult. Trails were rated in 2005 in Bike magazine as the top 10 in the country. Recently, in Bike Magazine the trails were rated 3rd in the Best Hometown Trails category.
The Noquemanon Trail Network is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that promotes development of integrated, multi-use, non-motorized trails.
