Beacon House Golf Classic
Fundraising efforts hit the links today for the 2nd annual Beacon House Golf Classic.
Celebrities and local golfers took to the course for a good time for a good cause.
The teams spent the day playing the Greywalls and Heritage golf courses.
About five dozen celebrities, including politicians and athletes, turned out for the tournament and the greater cause.
State Representative Tom Casperson, former Congressman Bart Stupak, former Green Bay Packer Jim McMahon were three of the many celebrities lending support to the Beacon House.
The golf classic is a major fundraising and awareness event for the Beacon House
Each year, hundreds of people stay at the facility. It is the U.P.’s only hospitality house. It serves people visiting Marquette for medical care, with 34 hotel–style rooms.
The Beacon House relies on fundraising events such as the golf classic as well as donations throughout the year to be able to continue its’ mission. The Beacon House has been open for 10 years.
