Dollar General Opening Negaunee Store

In another couple of weeks, Negaunee residents will have somewhere new to shop.
And the company behind the new discount store is doing its hiring now.
Dollar General held a job fair at the Comfort Inn in Marquette today.
By the early afternoon, several dozen people had shown up and filled out an application.
But they’ll have quite a bit of competition for jobs at the new store on US–41 in Negaunee.
Heidi Weiss, a media relations representative for Dollar General, says the company is looking to hire about 15 people temporarily to set up the store and prepare it for opening.
Then, from those temporary employees, the staff for the store once it opens will be chosen based on how they work during the set-up process.
The Negaunee store is still under construction, but not for long.
Employees will start working there at the end of this month, and it’ll open for business in the first week of July.
Company officials say if you want to apply but couldn’t make it to today’s job fair, you’re not out of luck.
