UPSET Bust in Marquette
One person is in custody after a bust that netted three meth labs in Marquette this afternoon. The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed a search warrant about 4 p.m.
U.P.S.E.T. detectives received information this morning about a possible meth lab at a residence in the Pioneer Village Mobile Home Park in South Marquette. And police acted on the tip quickly: a search warrant was executed within hours.
One person in the residence was taken to jail for possession of methamphetamine components –a felony. Three meth labs were found in the home and a shed on the property. Police say this was a very dangerous situation, considering how close together the mobile homes are to each other.
The U.P.S.E.T. Drug Team led the bust with assistance from The City of Marquette Police Department. Also assisting on the scene was The City of Marquette Fire Department.
