Marquette Walk to School Day
Teachers and Marquette County YMCA volunteers were out early this morning, helping kids get a little exercise as they ease traffic on the roads.
The Marquette Area Public Schools recognized today as Walk to School Day.
Students from Bothwell Middle School pounded the pavement with some adult escorts.
There’s also a National Walk to School Day every October.
Hurley Field in South Marquette was one of several places in the city where escorts met kids on their way to school.
Next Wednesday, May 9th, will be the first annual National Bike to School Day.
Volunteers will be out again that day to give kids an escort on wheels.
