NMU Entrepreneur Contest
Northern Michigan University students have all sorts of ideas for startup companies.
Five of them competed for funding today that may help get their ideas off the ground.
NMU’s College of Business hosted its 5th annual New Business Venture Competition this afternoon.
Students pitched their ideas to area businesspeople, who act as judges.
Indoor Organics, which involves growing organic produce indoors without a greenhouse, won the first prize of $4,000 for Best Business Plan.
Marquette Roofing Tiles, which would manufacture concrete tiles, took home $2,500 for second place.
CC’s Soup walked away with $1,500 for finishing third.
