Greenhouse Volunteers Needed

Local conservation groups are looking for help to keep Michigan native plants growing all winter long.

Michigan State University extension built a greenhouse on Wright Street in Marquette many years ago.

It’s been continuously active for more than 15 years.

The Hiawatha National Forest and the superior watershed partnership now run it.

Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow held a hearing this week about market opportunities for family farmers.

Keeping Michigan native plants and grasses on the landscape helps, too.

The greenhouse program is always looking for volunteers.

You can ask the Hiawatha National Forest about helping out.
