Marquette County Adminstrator Position Discussed
The Marquette County Board of Commissioners is expected to vote next week on who will be the next County Administrator. At a Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday evening, the commissioners in attendance stopped just short of offering the County Administrator position to one applicant.
Scott Erbisch was appointed Interim Administrator when Steve Powers left the area last fall after 15 years with the county. Outgoing Commissioner Jim Cihak recommended Erbisch for the job on a permanent basis. Other board members highly praised Erbisch for his job performance. But, after some discussion, it was decided that a final decision on the position will be put off until next month.
Commissioner Mike Quayle was the lone dissenting voice on officially offering the permanent position to Erbisch Tuesday night. Although he said Erbisch has proven himself in the position, Quayle firmly stated his desire to see the full applicant review report before a final decision is made by the board. The board officially asked the firm hired to review applicants for a full report on the candidates by the end of this week.
The Marquette County Board of Commissioners will meet for a regular board meeting Tuesday, March 6, at 6:00 P.M. in Room 231 of the Henry A. Skewis Courthouse Annex.
