Negaunee Boil-Water Advisory

Negaunee residents on Hungerford Street between Birch Street and Maas Street are under a boil-water advisory until further notice.

A water main break was reported in the city this morning near the corner of Birch Street and Hungerford Avenue.

Although Negaunee Public Works crews had the leak stopped about a half-hour later, the loss of pressure may have led to a reverse leakage, contaminating the water system.

Lakeview Elementary School in Negaunee was also closed today as a result of the water main break.

Residents are advised to boil water for at least three to five minutes.
