U.P. Woman Arrested in Bank Robbery
An Upper Michigan woman will be back in court in a week, charged with two bank robberies in the Toledo, Ohio area.
21 year old Ashley Dawn Elvetici, of Negaunee, was arrested Wednesday evening in connection with a robbery Wednesday morning. She was picked up at a motel near the bank.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Elvetici entered the Key Bank branch at about 9:07 a.m. She reportedly passed a note demanding money from a teller. Ashley Elvetici was given an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen fleeing in a hunter green Ford Taurus.
The vehicle was recovered and Crime Stopper tips led police to Elvetici at the motel.
Elvetici was arrested Wednesday night at around 10 pm for 2 counts of robbery, both second degree felonies. She is also charged with the robbery of another bank, Charter One, on January 26. No weapon was seen in either of the robberies.
She is in custody at the Lucas County Correctional Center.
The investigation is continuing.
