Torch Light Trek Off Without a Hitch

The Noquemanon Ski Marathon festivities have officially kicked off…as kids showed up in droves to take part in the annual “Torch Light Trek” in Downtown Ishpeming.

Each year the event serves as a way to provide youth skiers with a non–competitive environment to either try the sport out for the first time or show off their skills.

The event has been held in the downtown area for nearly a decade three block trek usually attracts between 70 and 100 participants.

The event is made possible each year thanks to the collaborative effort between Wilderness Sports, the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, the Ishpeming Business Association and the Downtown Development Authority.
