Escanaba shooting investigated
One man is in custody after a shooting incident in Escanaba Thursday evening.
Escanaba Public Safety Officers are continuing to investigate the reported shooting incident shot on the south side of Escanaba on Thursday evening.
A witness reported a single gunshot coming from a residence and a female screaming. Police detectives interviewed an uncooperative adult female who made her way safely from the residence.
After a 6-hour stand-off with an adult male inside, the suspect surrendered without incident. The male suspect was lodged in the Delta County Jail on an unrelated charge.
No one was injured in the incident. Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff Department, Michigan State Police and UPSET detectives.
