Finnish Festival in Hancock
A popular Finnish Festival in the copper country is featuring some traditional characters.
Kids will have something fun and unique to do during this year’s Heikinpaiva parade in Hancock.
Organizers have introduced a character hunt for the parade that takes place on January 25th.
Kay Seppala from the Finnish theme committee says the costumes are of famous traditional Finnish characters.
The characters are in the parade every year but now kids can use a check–list while they hunt to find as many of them as possible.
The sheets will be entered into a drawing with a cash prize of ten dollars.
There’s no right or wrong answers…just as long as the kids enjoy the wonderful characters.
Check–lists for the kids are available at the 97–7 the wolf radio station in Houghton and at the Kukkakauppa flower shop in Hancock.
