Western Michigan to join NCHC, not WCHA

Western Michigan University is set to announce tomorrow that they will join the newly formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference, and not the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Broncos and St. Cloud State were the two teams extended invites by the schools currently in the NCHC. Beginning in the 2013-2014 hockey season, eight total teams will play in the NCHC.

Back on August 25th, Western Michigan was among five teams invited to join the WCHA. St. Cloud State will announce their decision on whether or not they will join the WCHA at a Press Conference on the University Grounds at 1 P.M.
