Fatal Motorcycle Crash
IT HAS BEEN A TRAGIC MONTH FOR MOTORCYCLISTS IN UPPER MICHIGAN.
THREE MOTORCYCLE FATALITIES HAVE OCCURRED IN THE PAST THREE WEEKS, THE LATEST HAPPENING EARLY THIS MORNING IN SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY.
43 YEAR OLD EDDIE LARKINS, JUNIOR WAS KILLED IN THOMPSON TOWNSHIP.
THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE FROM THE MANISTIQUE POST SAY LARKINS WAS SOUTHBOUND ON M–149 AROUND 1–30 THIS MORNING WHEN HE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A UTILITY POLICE.
POLICE SAY SPEED AND ALCOHOL ARE BELIEVED TO BE FACTORS IN THE CRASH.
THE MANISTIQUE MAN WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET.
THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
TROOPERS WERE ASSISTED AT THE SCENE BY MANISTIQUE PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE SAULT TRIBE LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT.
A WISCONSIN BIKER DIED MONDAY WHEN HE REAR–ENDED A DUMP TRUCK IN HOUGHTON COUNTY.
AND – THREE WEEKS AGO, A MARQUETTE COUNTY MOTORCYCLIST DIED WHEN A VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIM ALONG U–S 41 IN ISHPEMING.
