NMU Hockey Officially Rejoining WCHA

It\’s official — two years from now, Northern Michigan University hockey will be back in the WCHA.
The league has formally approved NMU\’s request to rejoin it.
Other WCHA members unanimously approved NMU\’s membership application during a conference call earlier today.
The Wildcats were a WCHA member in 1991 when they won their lone national championship in that sport.
There\’s also a change inside the athletic department as well.
NMU has hired Calvin Larson as its sports information manager.
He succeeds former NMU sports information director Dave Faiella, who passed away 7 months ago from complications of a heart attack.
