Former Michigan Tech Player Signs with Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings have signed former Michigan Tech Husky Chris Conner to a 1–year, 2–way contract.
Financial terms of the deal have not been released.
He played 60 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, and he has also played for the Dallas Stars in his career.
Conner will compete for a roster spot in training camp.
But the Eings already have 13 other forwards on one–way deals, and a 14th, Cory Emmerton, must clear waivers to be sent back to Grand Rapids.
So Conner will probably start the season with the Griffins down in the AHL.
He played at michigan tech from 2002 to 2006, posting 69 goals and 129 career points.
Conner left Houghton as Michigan Tech\’s all–time leader in career shorthanded goals, and he was a WCHA All–Conference second team selection in 2004.
