This Place Matters Challenge
Time is running out to help the city of Marquette obtain grant money for improvements to Presque Isle Park.
The money would come from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The top 3 finishers in its This Place Matters Community Challenge receive money.
Marquette is in 19th place out of the 100 entries.
The Presque Isle Park Advisory Committee knows what sorts of things the money would buy.
Marquette city planner Dave Stensaas says they’d like to make trail improvements and install interpretive signage.
The money could also be used for updated playground equipment.
Each person who votes can only vote in the contest once, and the voting closes tomorrow night at midnight.
If you haven’t voted yet, you can do it online here.
